The Rogue’s Whisky
The Lunar Rogue Pub is a historic whisky bar in Fredericton, New Brunswick, known for its extensive whisky collection and most recently, its guided tasting experiences. With over 1000 whiskies in its selection, The Lunar Rogue Pub was named one of the “Best Whisky Bars of the World” by Whisky Magazine (UK). Guided whisky tastings have become popular scheduled experiences.

At The Lunar Rogue Pub, our guided whisky tastings in Fredericton are more than a flight, they’re a conversation. Whether you’re booking a private whisky tasting, attending one of our monthly events, or exploring international whiskies using our App, “The Rogues Whisky” as your guide, each experience is built around knowledge and centuries of craft.
Tastings are led by a number of our experienced Whisky hosts, one of whom is Frank Scott, our Whisky Consultant who was honoured by the Scottish whisky industry by being made a Keeper of the Quaich. Frank is the founder of the New Brunswick Spirits Festival as well as one of the original founders of The Lunar Rogue Pub.
Each tasting experience at The Lunar Rogue is tailored to regional explorations, deep dives into a single distillery, or curated from some of our rare expressions. Private tastings can also be booked and curated to your group’s specific interests.

The Rogue offers a variety of guided whisky tastings, which explore flavour, craft, and tradition.
Led by one of our extremely knowledgeable and passionate whisky hosts, these tastings feature curated selections of Whisky, guided nosing and tasting, and stories behind each dram.
These whisky tastings are suitable for both new and seasoned whisky drinkers.
Privately Guided
We provide privately guided whisky tastings tailored specifically to your group.

Self-Guided
Enjoy your own Rogue Whisky tasting in-house or at home.
Build your own or choose from a variety of our featured Whisky flights to enjoy in-house or in the comfort of your own home. Tasting placemats are provided for Featured flights, which provide the Tasting Notes as well as a QR code to download The Rogue’s Whisky App, which gives you access to tasting notes from all of The Rogue’s Whiskies.

Yes. The Rogue hosts guided whisky tastings monthly, along with private tastings by request. Tastings may be led by our Whisky Consultant Frank Scott who is a Keeper of the Quaich, founder of the New Brunswick Spirits Festival, and one of the original founders of The Lunar Rogue Pub, or by one of our extremely knowledgeable whisky hosts, which include members from the NB Whisky Society, and representatives from some of the largest Canadian distributors of many of the world’s premium Spirits.

All tastings take place at The Lunar Rogue Pub in downtown Fredericton, New Brunswick.

You can book in person, by phone at 506-450-2065, or by email at lunarrogueoffice@gmail.com. For private tastings (minimum six guests), we recommend booking a few weeks in advance — though we’re always happy to explore last-minute options.

Each guided whisky tasting includes a lineup of hand-picked whiskies, tasting notes, and instruction on how to nose, taste, and evaluate whisky flavour and aroma. Sessions often include insights into distilleries, production styles, and the Rogue’s own collection.

Most tastings run approximately 90 minutes, depending on the number of whiskies and the pace of discussion.

Pricing varies depending on the whiskies selected. Ticket prices for public tastings are listed with each event, while private tastings are quoted based on the chosen lineup.

Public tastings can range between 8 - 25 people and private tastings can be arranged for groups of six or more.

Yes. We offer private whisky tastings for corporate groups, team gatherings, and special occasions. Tastings can be customized based on time, budget, and whisky preferences.

Standard tastings feature anywhere between four to six whiskies, typically served as half-ounce pours. Custom tastings may include more or fewer selections.

Absolutely. We’re happy to help you build a custom tasting based on a variety of options, such as by region, distillery, style, age, or flavour profile. We can also offer tastings that are specific to Canada, Scotland, Japan, Ireland, America, and beyond.
